Hi, I’m Cassis! I’m a freelance photographer and creative director from the Bay Area, currently working in Boston and New York! I have had an interest in photography since I was in elementary school; my very first camera was a purple Canon Powershot that I used to bring with me everywhere. The first time I picked up a DSLR was in 2015 when I started shooting for my high school’s yearbook; initially shooting sports and the fashion trends of my fellow students.

Since then, my camera has truly become an extension of me. I purchased my own DSLR camera when I graduated high school, and continued casually taking photos and videos of my friends when we would hang out. I knew that I wanted to further develop my abilities, so the following year I joined the Photography Club at UCSB; where I further developed my editing skills, photographic style, and dipped my toe in the water of creative directing! I became the club president my junior and senior years, and graduated from UCSB with a BA in Art and a minor in the History of Art and Architecture. While I did take several photography courses while studying, I credit a majority of my learning and development to the Photography Club; I would not at all be where I am today if it were not for the incredibly talented and kind students there who taught me SO much.

I have been freelancing for around 8 years now, and since graduating in 2020 (rough, I know), I’ve continued to take my passion to new levels. I plan, direct, style, shoot, and edit my own creative projects and photo shoots every month of the year. Creative portraits are where I really shine, but I also have years of experience shooting graduation photos, events, products, fashion, and more. I hope to one day turn this passion of mine into a full blown career with a team of creatives who are excited to collaborate and bring visions to life.
